Bihar Educational Change Foundation (BE Change) is committed to improving childhood education at primary schools in rural Bihar, one of the poorest states in India. We’re currently working to fund meal programs, teacher salaries and the purchase of school supplies at schools that rely on charitable donations to survive. Each of our partner schools have different needs—you can learn more about the specific projects we are funding at each school here: Prema Metta Orphanage School Trust and Bhavishya Me Free Education School.

We invite you to read our mission statement and meet some of the students at these schools. Donations to BE Change will ensure they have what they need to succeed: a stable, quality education.

Feeding the Future

Many children in Bihar count on the food provided at school for a consistent and nutritious daily meal. We help fund existing meal programs, as well as the construction of kitchens at schools that have not been able to afford them, so that students won’t go hungry.

Supplying the Future

Small, infrequent donations mean that schools may not be able to provide students with learning materials as needed. We help bring new, high-quality materials to students so they won’t need to worry about having the tools to succeed.

Educating the Future

Many teachers in rural Bihar make less than $40 USD per month, and schools are sometimes forced to defer monthly payroll when funding dries up. We help fund teacher salaries so that they can focus on their most critical task: educating the next generation.
